Why We Exist

Founded in 2019, Axum Global Consulting was born from a conviction grounded in both experience and economics: Small and mission-driven businesses are the backbone of our economy — and when they operate efficiently, everyone benefits.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses make up over 99% of all U.S. firms and employ nearly half the private workforce. They drive innovation, expand opportunity, and uplift entire communities. But many of these businesses — especially those led by historically underrepresented founders — are held back not by lack of potential, but by operational gaps, unclear systems, and limited access to capital and high-value contracts.

We saw that government contractors, public agencies, and purpose-driven organizations were doing some of the most important work in society — yet struggling to deliver efficiently and sustainably due to the complexity of their internal operations. That’s where AGC comes in.

Our mission is to help small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) and mission-driven organizations break through structural barriers, penetrate federal and public contracting opportunities, and build internal systems that allow them to operate with excellence at scale. Samson Wodajo, MBA, MA | Founder & CEO

Over 25 Years of Federal and Private Sector Experience

Samson brings 25 years of diverse experience spanning federal acquisition, hospitality operations, defense contracting, and entrepreneurship. With a B.S. in Marketing and Management, an M.A. in Acquisition and Procurement, and an M.B.A. in Finance and Global Strategy, Samson brings both technical expertise and leadership perspective to every engagement.

He’s served as a Contracting Officer for the Department of Defense, administered on multi-million-dollar procurements, led operations in the hospitality industry, and built scalable internal systems for startups to federal contractors — all of which inform the systems-driven, people-centered work we do at AGC.

But AGC is more than one leader. We are powered by a network of seasoned experts, fractional executives, and industry specialists who bring proven experience in federal logistics, business operations, leadership development, and systems implementation.
